Textiles Sector Conference – Designing an Export Market-Led Textile  Future

Day Two – Thursday 27 May – 9am start

The theme of the one day conference is Designing an Export Market-Led Textiles Future, with emphasis on assisting businesses to grow their exports.

Speakers will be controversial, challenging and enlightening. But it won’t just be about listening to others. At workshop sessions delegates will be asked their views and to offer solutions to the challenges facing the industry.

Textiles NZ’s goal is for the textiles sector to double its export earnings within the next five years. Textiles NZ wants to hear your feedback, including what more it can do to assist the industry to reach this goal.

Opening speaker - Theresa Gattung, a leading New Zealand business personality. Named in Fortune magazine’s list of the 50 most powerful women in international business several times since 2002, she was also included in Forbes’ list of the world’s 50 most powerful women across any sphere in 2006. Theresa is the former CEO of Telecom NZ and is now Chairperson of Wool Partners International. She is a passionate advocate for New Zealand’s wool industry. If there is sufficient interest a Spouses/Partner/Friends Programme will be organised for Wednesday 26 May. It will include an exciting tour of various Wellington sites of interest and lunch, with pick-up from the Brentwood Hotel. Cost will be under $100. It you are interested, please let us know.
