About Us

Background

The New Zealand Government initiated and developed the TCFC Partnership, an industry lead review of the textile industry to look at its potential to achieve sustainable growth.

The TCFC Partnership released the document 'The Way Ahead Strategy - Strength & Growth Together' in 2002, that identified significant opportunities for the textile industry if it worked collectively to build on it strengths and moved to become a more globalised industry.

A key outcome of this strategy was the establishment in 2003 of Textiles New Zealand a Industry Development Organisation (IDO) set up to enable the four sectors of the textiles industry – textiles, carpet, footwear and apparel, to work together to grow business opportunities.

Textiles New Zealand is a neutral, industry-driven entity that will work collaboratively, and in partnership with the textiles industry and government, to achieve mutually agreed goals.
